I came to Italy for Erasmus… and somehow never left. 🇮🇹 Ten years ago, I was a German student from Munich, studying International Communication and Translation, when I came to Rome for my Erasmus year. Okay, I’m letting you in on one of my little Versilia secrets… Last night my husband and I went to I 4 Mori in Querceta, and honestly, this is exactly the kind of place I love sharing with friends. It’s tucked away from the busy streets of Forte dei Marmi, with tables under the olive trees and that wonderfully relaxed feeling of a proper Italian family dinner. No showing off. No need to be seen. Just really good, carefully selected ingredients, beautiful Italian flavours with a more contemporary touch, and large Italian families sitting around the table, talking, laughing and taking their time. This is the side of Versilia I want my clients to discover. Because when you live here, you learn that some of the best experiences aren’t necessarily the most obvious ones. 🎥This week started with great news. A television show team came to Forte dei Marmi. My good friend and Italian property lawyer for German clients Julika @studiolegale_repplinger contacted me and asked me if I could do a tour around Forte dei Marmi with interviews and interesting facts and spots about Forte dei Marmi and Versilia. Of course I accepted. Thanks to my exceptional contacts we were able to get an interview with @marco_nereo_rotelli through @gamma602 and with the mayor of Forte dei Marmi @brunomurzi We also could explain more about the lifestyle in Forte dei Marmi and about the “bagni” as they are called here, the beach clubs and we could show @alpemare_fortedeimarmi I am honestly grateful to all of the people who made this possible. Forte dei Marmi is a very unique place and deserves more attention, also internationally. It is a place where artists, painters, writers and famous personalities have gathered in the past and still do. Many of them have a special relationship with this place as it offers a unique combination of mainly 3 things: 1. amazing services like Michelin star restaurants, beach clubs, shops, bicycle culture that we experienced thanks to @principessafortedeimarmi and connection to the world through one private airport @aeroportodeimarmi and 2 public airports: Pisa and Florence. 2. Privacy and the possibility to relax by the Tuscan sea 3. Sea and mountains so close to each other. The Apuan Alps are just a few kilometers from the beach. But we filmed also in other two wonderful places: Pietrasanta with its art galleries, history and artistic charme where we met my good friend @fabiana.amore.it who just moved here a few years ago from Germany and says it has been one of the best choices of her life so far. Lucca with its beautiful narrow streets within the historic walls and ancient churches where we went to @buccellatotaddeucci1881 to enjoy the famous Buccellato sweet bread. At the weekly market that takes place on Wednesdays and Sundays (in summer only) on Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, you can find beautiful Italian leather, fabrics, shoes, clothing and accessories — often at surprisingly good prices. And that’s the beauty of Italian style: the quality is in the craftsmanship, not the name on the label. For me, that’s very much part of the quiet luxury mindset.
